Graduation Dresses: What to Know and What to Choose

Your graduation ceremony will take place in the traditional manner, but what do you wear for the party afterwards? Now you need to think about the colour of your dress or, if you are going for maximum impact, the pattern you want to wear. Patterns can be great for a graduation dress as they offer something fresh and original, but they can be hard to wear depending on your body shape. Only you will know what sort of look you can carry off so take care when thinking about pattern or plain. For the girl who wants to stay in the background plain is the way to go, and with a muted colour choice the best option.

Long or Short?

An important choice that can be influenced by dress code and the level of formality of the occasion is this: do you want to wear a long dress or a short one? The long, sleek, and stylish gown type of design is perfect for an occasion that is more towards the formal side. However, that also applies to many a very chic short dress that can be worn for other occasions as well as this one. Take care to make sure the dress you buy suits your shape, and you will suit either choice equally.

Wide or Slim?

Here is a question you need to consider: do you go body-hugging, tight, and slim, or would you be better suited by a wide skirt look? The latter is best for some body shapes while the former suits the girl with a slim figure, the more athletic type, and with such a lot of choice among various designs you will take a lot of time to choose the right one.
