What Makes a Sherri Hill Dress Different
A Sherri Hill dress is an original design by Sherri Hill herself, shown on the runway at New York Fashion Week and sold only through authorized Sherri Hill retailers. A dress from another company can look similar in a photo, but it is a different dress. Someone else designed it, cut it, sized it and made it.
Designed by Sherri Hill
Sherri Hill still personally designs every Sherri Hill dress today. She was designing prom, pageant and evening gowns long before she founded the company that bears her name. Sherri Hill, Inc. was founded in 2008 by Sherri Hill, Dusty Hill and Charles Hill, and has been based in Austin, Texas since 2012.
Every style begins as an original sketch. From there it goes through fabric development, embellishment development and fittings before it is finished.
Proven on the runway
Sherri Hill has presented 21 runway shows at New York Fashion Week since 2011. The most recent was the Spring 2027 collection, shown on September 12, 2026 at Cipriani 42nd Street. See every show.
The dresses that reach stores are made to exactly the same standard as the looks on the runway.
Made to fit
Sherri Hill dresses are cut to Sherri Hill's own size chart, from 000 to 26. Size availability varies by style. See the size guide.

Bought where you can try it on
Sherri Hill sells through authorized retail partners, not on sherrihill.com in the US. At an authorized store you can see the fabric and the beading up close, try on your size and get advice on fit and alterations before you buy. Sherri Hill prom dresses have a US suggested retail price of $399 to $1,999. Find a store near you.
A "dupe" is a different dress
A dress sold as a Sherri Hill "dupe," "inspired by" or "look-alike" is not a Sherri Hill dress. It is not designed by Sherri Hill herself, not cut to the Sherri Hill size chart and not made to the Sherri Hill standard. Fabric, lining, beadwork and fit can differ from what the photo suggests.
Some websites go further and use Sherri Hill's own photographs to sell dresses that are not Sherri Hill. If a site shows Sherri Hill photos at a price far below suggested retail, or isn't listed as an authorized retailer, treat it as a red flag. Report suspected counterfeits to info@sherrihill.com.
Can't find the one you want?
A sold-out listing at one shop doesn't mean a style is gone. Use Find in Store on any Sherri Hill product page to see stores that recently received that style, then call them. New collections start arriving in stores in late October and early November, with the full collection in stores by the end of January, so shopping early gives you the best selection.
