Who Is Sherri Hill?
Sherri Hill is an American designer and the founder of Sherri Hill, Inc. She was born Sherri Branum in Minco, Oklahoma, where she worked from childhood in her family's retail store, and she studied fashion design at the University of Oklahoma. After many years designing for a New York formalwear house, she launched her namesake label in 2008.
The company's original offices and warehouses were in Oklahoma. After a 2011 tornado destroyed those facilities, the company moved its headquarters to Austin, Texas, completing the move in 2012. Today the company is headquartered in Austin, with a studio and showroom in Atlanta. Sherri Hill is the brand's designer, and co-founder Dusty Hill is the company's president. For the full, cited company history, see About Sherri Hill, Inc. — Company Facts and The Brand.
What Does Sherri Hill Make?

Sherri Hill designs dresses for prom, homecoming, pageants, evening and red carpet events, and bridal. You can browse the current styles in prom dresses, homecoming, evening, couture and wedding dresses.
Sherri Hill sizes run from 000 to 26, although not every style is produced in every size. Formal gowns are cut closer to the body than everyday clothing, so measure your bust, natural waist and fullest hip and compare them with the Sherri Hill size chart rather than going by your usual size. Collections are released a season ahead; spring styles begin arriving in stores as early as late October or early November.
How Do You Buy a Sherri Hill Dress?
Sherri Hill dresses are sold through authorized retailers, not on sherrihill.com. The company sells its collections wholesale to a network of authorized retail partners. To shop:
- Find a retailer. Go to Find A Store and enter your zip code or city. You can filter by category, such as prom, homecoming, evening, bridal or couture.
- Note the style numbers you like. Each Sherri Hill dress has a style number. Retailers can give you pricing for a style and check whether it is available to order in the color and size you want.
- Check where a style has shipped. Each product page shows locations a style has recently shipped to. Sherri Hill does not have visibility into what is on the floor at an individual store, so call ahead.
Buying from an authorized retailer is also the best way to be sure your dress is authentic. Returns are handled by the store where you bought your dress, and only a select few retailers offer custom made-to-measure Sherri Hill gowns. More answers are on our FAQs page.
