Spring 2024 was almost entirely floor-length, and it was the season tulle came forward.
Silhouette and neckline
Fitted led, but ball gowns were a close second and A-line was well represented, so the season carried more volume than the ones that followed. Strapless was most common, with V necks a clear second and halters and off-the-shoulder behind. Slits ran through a large part of it, and corset bodices and ruffles were everywhere.
Fabric and finish
Lace led, then tulle in real quantity, with taffeta, sequin, satin and stretch fabrics behind. Prints and florals were a strong thread, beadwork carried the embellished styles, and the lace-up back was still in regular use.
Colour
Black and red were level at the top, with ivory, light blue, royal and navy behind them.
